Created by Chef Ferrell Alvarez, a 2017 James Beard Foundation semi-finalist for Best Chef South, his longtime business partner, friend and restaurateur Ty Rodriguez, and entrepreneur Chon Nguyen.

Proper House Group is a Tampa based hospitality group known for several widely acclaimed restaurants in the Tampa Bay region, including Rooster and the Till, a 2022 and 2023 Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient and named No. 1 restaurant in the Tampa Bay Times in 2018 and 2019, Ash, Gallito Taqueria, Gorditos and Dang Dude.

Alter Ego represents a distinct design contrast to our adjacent sibling concept Ash. Boasting a curated musical experience alongside a monochromatic design that includes intimate seating as well as social spaces.

House rules.

  • Enjoy your reservation for 1.5 hours, or 2 hours if you're rolling with a crew of 6+.
  • We'll hold your reservation for 15 minutes. Hit us up if you're running late to keep your spot.
  • Need to cancel? Let us know at least 12 hours in advance to avoid a $25 per guest cancellation fee.
  • There's a $10 cover and no re-entry after 9pm, Thursday through Saturday.
  • Our spot is 21+ to keep the scene right.
  • We're a cashless bar for quick and easy transactions.
